Some say February is a month of transitions and purification. Perhaps. For sure it gave us reason to bundle up.
Howling winds
Cool crisp breezes
Dark starry nights
Bundled up tight.
Walking briskly
Breathing deeply
Shivers of delight
In my warm winter coat
Having grown up in the mid-west, I remember cold frosty breezes and dark clear nights where I could look up and see the stars. Of course, to enjoy star gazing, we had to bundle up – layers of heavy fabrics, funny wool plaid hats snapped tightly around our chin, cumbersome rubber boots that echoed and made crunching sounds as we walked. And who could forget wearing only one glove because somehow the phantom had stolen the other — time and time again.
Truthfully, I’m no longer a fan of subzero weather, yet I’m delightfully invigorated by cool, crisp and clear windy days.
Whether you’re a fan of the cold or long to live in balmy Hawaii, I hope you enjoy the blends of peaceful serene blues, subtle greens and unexpected, invigorating hot chili reds.
If you can, take a pause from your to do list and notice nature, its beauty, colors, and the mysteries of our beloved earth. And don’t forget to take your coat.
Breathe and enjoy
